TTM Healthcare is currently working with an independent charity providing care and support to people with severe and enduring mental health needs like Alzheimer's and dementia, schizophrenia, and Huntington's disease. We are looking to source suitable applications for either a Staff or Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join them on a Permanent Full-time capacity (part-time option is available).
A minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience is essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct assessments to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
2. Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on assessment outcomes.
3. Deliver therapy sessions to clients in both individual and group settings, utilizing evidence-based approaches.
4. Monitor, evaluate, and document client progress, making adjustments to therapy plans as necessary.
5. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic and consistent care.
6. Participate actively in team meetings, training, and professional development activities.
7. Make informed clinical decisions for complex cases following comprehensive assessments.
8. Plan and deliver assessment and treatment programs in alignment with local policies and guidelines.
9. Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and service users to support decision-making and capacity assessments.
10. Communicate assessment results and recommendations effectively to service users and relevant stakeholders.
11. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, clinical notes, and other relevant records in accordance with professional and departmental standards.
12. Provide clinical leadership by supervising and supporting staff, managing work allocation, prioritizing tasks, and fostering positive team morale.
Minimum Requirements:
1. A Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
2. Current registration with CORU as a Speech and Language Therapist in Ireland.
3. Dysphagia qualification accredited by IASLT or an equivalent recognized level.
4. A minimum of 2 years of full-time, post-qualification clinical experience working with adults.
5. At least 1 year of experience specializing in adults with acquired disorders.
6. Proven clinical expertise in assessing and treating adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties.
7. Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions relevant to the role.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Demonstrated strong leadership abilities.
10. Capacity to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
11. A compassionate, patient-centered approach to therapy.
