FRS Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative/Construction Operative to join our team in Kilkenny.
To support the Maintenance Department in delivering timely, efficient, and effective maintenance/construction services in the healthcare setting.
The Role:
* Operate common construction/general facilities maintenance equipment and tools, including cutting and abrasive tools, access equipment, and loading equipment as required.
* Load and unload deliveries of materials or equipment.
* Collect materials from suppliers and deliver to various sites as requested, ensuring safe and timely delivery of supporting documentation to the Maintenance Office.
* Carry out maintenance and repairs tasks, including cutting, drilling, and chasing walls and floors, cutting trenches, mixing concrete, plastering, cleaning boilers, flues, water storage tanks, gutters, gulleys, and sewers, and power washing.
* Attend craftsmen during their duties, such as plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, and external contractors as required.
* Liaise with outside contractors as necessary.
* Travel in company-provided transport as directed by the Maintenance Officer or delegated person.
* Responsible for completing and documenting daily safety checks of assigned vehicles before commencing travel.
* Accountable for all tools, stock, or equipment under control, ensuring proper maintenance and repair in accordance with safety standards. Report any deficits.
* Perform grounds maintenance duties as directed, including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and weed control.
* Conduct preventive maintenance tasks assigned by the Maintenance Officer, such as scheduled inspections of sewage systems, cold water storage tanks, fuel storage tank levels, brine tank salt levels, etc.
* Other maintenance/construction-related duties as directed by Maintenance management.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in construction an advantage.
* Previous maintenance/caretaking experience essential.
* Safe Pass and Manual Handling Certificate.
* Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety.
* Full valid Category B Driving Licence.
