Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Purchasing Specialist to join our team at Muehlhan Wind Service. As a key member of our procurement department, you will play a vital role in sourcing quality goods and services at competitive terms and conditions.
The Role
This is a new position, offering a unique opportunity to shape and develop the role and responsibilities as we and the company evolve. You will work closely with different departments to understand their needs, find qualified vendors, negotiate contracts, and place orders and track deliveries.
To be successful in this role, you will need a blend of analytical skills, strong communication, and a keen eye for detail. You will also apply strong negotiation skills, technical understanding, and a holistic mindset to secure the most favorable agreements.
Key Responsibilities
* Research suppliers of goods and services
* Prepare proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchasing terms and conditions
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns
* Qualification and auditing of suppliers
* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
* Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements
Requirements
* Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering positive working relationships
* 3+ years of experience as a purchasing specialist or in a similar role
* Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar field preferred
* Superb communication and negotiation skills
* Good problem-solving and analytical skills
* Well-organized team player
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing, and resource planning systems
* Proficiency in written and spoken English language
