Job Description: Nurse – Step Down Unit
Join our esteemed {company} in Tipperary, Ireland, as we seek a dedicated and skilled Nurse to play a pivotal role in patient recovery within our Step Down Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver comprehensive nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans.
* Regularly monitor patients' vital signs, progress, and overall condition, promptly reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
* Administer medications accurately and safely in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, physiotherapists, and social workers, to ensure holistic patient care.
* Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families, helping them understand their care plans and recovery process.
* Assist in preparing patients for discharge by coordinating with community services and ensuring follow-up care is in place.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to legal and organizational standards.
* Ensure all practices comply with infection prevention and control measures, health and safety regulations, and hospital policies.
Requirements:
* Education: Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification and active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in a hospital or clinical setting; previous experience in a Step Down Unit, rehabilitation, or medical-surgical unit is highly desirable.
* Skills: Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and proficiency in electronic health record systems.
