Within this role you will be primarily responsible for all aspects of calibration of instruments & equipment across the entire site, including compliance and management of contracts and projects. You will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the Calibration team, staff leadership and resource management. As an Associate Manager/Manager in Calibration a typical day might include, but is not limited to, the following: Leading the Technical Operations Calibration team as well as contingent workers to maintain equipment in validated state to support production scheduleBeing responsible for communication of site safety policies and procedures and fostering a safe work culturePlanning departmental staffing patterns and operating expensesBeing responsible for departmental staffingSupporting day-to-day activities and projects, as well as coordinating work with appropriate internal departments, contractors, and external agenciesPerforming duties of Area Manager and assuring timely completion of calibration related quality investigationsActing as subject matter expert and presenting related topics & details to regulatory inspectors during inspectionsBeing responsible for all aspects of employee management, including performance management, job descriptions, interviewing, hiring, discipline and yearly performance evaluationsEnsuring the Calibration team works closely with FM scheduling function to support business needsWorking with other area managers in order to maintain process & utility equipment as requiredParticipating in and providing leadership for the development of policies and procedures for the department, division, and organizationBeing responsible for resolution of calibration issues; Striving for excellence in customer satisfaction initiatives through planning, implementing, following up and monitoringBeing responsible for supervising and maintaining all scheduled and on demand calibrations for process, utility and site equipmentManaging contractors on approved supplier list in order to supplement full time employeesSubmitting purchase requisitions as requiredEnsuring that GMP and regulatory requirements are complied with as evidenced by internal audits and inspections from government agenciesDirecting, administering, and coordinating the activities of both non-exempt and exempt employees assigned to the calibrations functionTraining, guiding, and evaluating employees in the interpretation of company policies, goals and objectives for siteDeveloping and leading team competency and development through training programsManaging training on SOPs, work instructions and OJT to ensure compliance and no overdue trainingMaintaining an adequate workforce to support present needs and planning for departmental requirements in the futurePerforming and handling other duties and projects as requiredThis role might be for you if:You possess a deep understanding of calibration processes and equipment, capable of maintaining them in a validated state to support production schedulesYou have proven experience in operational management, including supporting day-to-day activities, project coordination, and working effectively with internal and external stakeholdersYou demonstrate the ability to act as a subject matter expert in calibration, presenting topics and details to regulatory inspectors during inspections confidentlyYou have expertise in employee management, including performance management, interviewing, hiring, discipline, and conducting yearly performance evaluationsTo be considered for this role you should have a BS/BA and 8+ years of engineering, maintenance/calibration and/or project management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Will consider qualified to National Craft Standard. 5+ years’ experience in a pharmaceutical or other cGMP environment preferred.
