Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Clinical Research Veterinary Nurse within the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine.
The School of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a clinical research veterinary nurse to support our expanding programme of clinical research. This role offers an exciting opportunity to experience a different but innovative aspect of veterinary nursing.
This position is part of the School's strategy to develop and enhance veterinary clinical research. Clinical research refers to ethical studies undertaken on patients at the UCD Veterinary Hospital, involving data collation, sample use, and potential implementation of clinical trials for new therapies.
All clinical research is overseen by a team of veterinary specialists with input from Residents, Interns, and veterinary nurses. Projects are only undertaken with informed owner consent.
Experience in clinical research is beneficial but not mandatory, as appropriate training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the development and execution of clinical research projects
* Collate clinical data and manage samples
* Contribute to the implementation of clinical trials for new therapies
* Work under the supervision of veterinary specialists
Requirements:
* Relevant qualification and/or experience in veterinary nursing
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
