We are currently recruiting Part Time Speech and Language Therapist for our Nenagh Rehabilitation Unit, Tyone, Nenagh, Co Tipperary.
Job Summary
To provide Speech and Language assessment and therapy for patients in Nenagh Rehabilitation Unit. The Speech and Language Therapy Team will be part of the Multidisciplinary Therapy Team. Duties include the delivery of therapy intervention ensuring that the speech, language, and swallowing programmes are delivered safely and effectively.
* To provide specialist intervention demonstrating clinical effectiveness by the use of evidence-based practice and outcome measures while being able to adapt practices to meet individual needs.
* To provide therapy services utilizing a variety of service delivery models including individual, multidisciplinary, and group-directed sessions.
* To use specialist knowledge of standardised assessment tools.
* To develop and implement speech and language programmes for individuals and groups using expertise to create innovative and effective ways of working where appropriate to maximize individual potential.
* To attend and participate in regular multidisciplinary team meetings.
* To liaise closely with all staff to support the implementation of appropriate communication and swallowing strategies.
* To deliver all aspects of speech and language therapy intervention according to relevant evidence-based practices.
* To maintain professional status and competence at a specialist level, taking responsibility for keeping own knowledge and skills up to date by engaging in continuing professional development.
* Contribute to developing policies for the centre.
Requirements:
