AECOM is recruiting an Associate Director-Structural Engineer to join our Dublin office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer, with excellent business acumen and a proven track record in project delivery and team management. The Dublin Building Engineering Structures team focuses on projects not only in Ireland but also across the UK and Europe. We specialize in residential, educational, healthcare, infrastructure, data centres, commercial, civic sectors for public and private clients.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a significant role in future construction projects but also team management and growth.
What you’ll do!
Duties of the Associate Director Structural Engineer role include:
1. Effectively control the commercial, managerial, and technical aspects of projects and areas of the business for which you are responsible.
2. Sourcing opportunities and preparing fee proposals for submission to client, including resources and programme.
3. Developing relationships with new clients and enhancing business relationships with existing clients.
4. Leading a team of engineers and technicians in building infrastructure schemes.
5. Developing the skills of employees within the team, through mentoring and training; ensuring they have clear direction on how to progress their careers.
6. Ensuring the AECOM principles on project delivery are conducted in line with company policy, ensuring quality on all aspects of project delivery.
Specific Requirements:
1. Excellent understanding of the application of the current Eurocodes, Irish Building Regulations and BCAR requirements.
2. Experience in the assessment of existing structures and their justification, as well as new build designs.
3. The ability to identify, assess and mitigate risks, relating to both Health & Safety, design, construction and maintenance.
4. The ability to effectively communicate and promote your message across the team, senior management and represent AECOM professionally to clients and external bodies.
5. Ability to manage the delivery of work to appropriate technical standard, programme and budget constraints.
Qualifications
Minimum Professional Qualifications:
1. Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
2. Chartered Engineer (CEng)
3. Membership of one of Engineers Ireland, Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE) or the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE).
Desirable Attributes:
1. A solid track record of working on and successfully delivering large, diverse, complex projects, where you acted as project leader for the engineering discipline.
2. Knowledge and experience of the Irish marketplace.
