The Senior Process Technician is responsible for overseeing and optimizing production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance. This role involves providing technical expertise in troubleshooting, process improvements, and mentoring junior staff. The Senior Process Technician plays a key role in maintaining production goals and continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
o Lead the operation, monitoring, and adjustment of complex process systems to optimize production output and quality
o Identify opportunities for process improvements and work closely with engineering and production teams to implement enhancements.
o Analyse process data and performance metrics to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve product consistency.
o Provide advanced troubleshooting for equipment malfunctions, process inefficiencies, and quality issues.
o Collaborate with maintenance teams to perform corrective and preventive maintenance activities on equipment.
o Document and communicate all maintenance and troubleshooting activities, offering recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
o Oversee the performance of product quality checks and ensure compliance with established standards.
o Lead initiatives to reduce defects and maintain high product quality through adherence to process protocols and quality management systems.
o Mentor and provide guidance to junior technicians and trainees, sharing knowledge of best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
o Assist with the development and delivery of training programs for staff on operational procedures, safety, and equipment handling.
o Promote and ensure adherence to company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
o Conduct safety checks, risk assessments, and hazard analyses as needed.
o Lead and participate in incident investigations and corrective actions related to process operations.
o Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance, to achieve production objectives.
o Generate and present reports on process performance, improvement initiatives, and other key performance metrics to management.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience in plastics industry or extrusion is a massive benefit.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in process operations within a manufacturing or production environment.
* Strong mechanical and/or electrical skills, with proven expertise in troubleshooting complex systems.
* Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives, with experience in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies being advantageous.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Effective leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities.
* Proficiency in using relevant software tools for data analysis, reporting, and process control.
* Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Working Conditions:
* These employees work on a 4 week shift pattern rotation and work 12-hour shifts including nights and days.
