As Health and Safety Manager, you will oversee, evaluate, and assess policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current legislative requirements and the maintenance of safe work systems. This role will report directly to the Site Director. This is a full-time position with a leading pharma organization in Co. Waterford.
Overview of Main Responsibilities:
1. Provide relevant EHS Training as required.
2. Propose and carry out safety and environmental risk assessments and determine acceptable risk levels.
3. Recommend and implement emergency policies and ensure specific control systems meet required standards.
4. Ensure accidents and incidents are investigated as per policy, and ensure agreed corrective actions are implemented.
5. Provide statistics to management and health and safety committee.
6. Implement and ensure compliance with policies and current safety and environmental legislative requirements.
7. Advise on potential health risks at work, health of employees, health promotion.
8. Carry out external and internal environmental audits to ensure the company meets the required standards.
9. Maintain and promote environmental standards throughout the organisation.
What the ideal EHS Manager looks like:
1. Third Level Qualification in Health and Safety.
2. 5 years of experience in the health and safety sector within manufacturing, pharma, or construction.
3. Experience within Pharmaceutical manufacturing is desired.
4. Knowledgeable in Process Safety Management.
