Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Manager to lead and oversee our company's sales operations. The successful candidate will drive revenue growth, build strong customer relationships, and deliver exceptional service across all divisions: Sales of New Products, Overhauls of Mechanical and Electrical Equipment, and Site Installation and Servicing of Mechanical and Electrical Equipment. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance hands-on management with long-term business development.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Management:
1. Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve business objectives across all divisions.
2. Identify and target key markets and ideal customer profiles, emphasising high reliability, service quality, and technical support needs.
3. Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and risks.
Team Leadership and Development:
1. Build, lead, and motivate a high-performing sales team, ensuring alignment with company values and objectives.
2. Provide training, mentoring, and coaching to enhance team performance and professional growth.
3. Set clear sales targets and KPIs for the team, regularly monitoring performance and addressing gaps.
Customer Relationship Management:
1. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
2. Promote a customer-focused approach, emphasising trust, customisation, and technical expertise.
3. Collaborate with the Field Services and overhaul teams to ensure seamless customer support and satisfaction.
Data-Driven Sales Execution:
1. Leverage insights from the company’s ERP (Microsoft Business Central) and CRM (Microsoft Field Services) systems to identify opportunities and track performance.
2. Use data to evaluate customer segments, prioritise leads, and forecast sales.
3. Implement reporting mechanisms to provide regular updates to senior management on sales performance.
Business Development:
1. Drive business growth by expanding into new markets and identifying high-value customer opportunities.
2. Develop proposals and solutions tailored to customers' needs, particularly those requiring root cause analysis, certifications, and technical customisation.
3. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness.
Operational Coordination:
1. Collaborate with other departments, including Overhauls and Servicing, to align sales strategies with operational capabilities.
2. Work closely with the finance team to align sales targets and budgetary goals.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
1. Proven track record of success in a sales leadership role, preferably in industries dealing with mechanical and electrical equipment, industrial solutions, or technical services.
2. Strong understanding of customer needs for reliability, quality of service, technical support, and customised solutions.
3. Experience working with ERP and CRM systems, particularly Microsoft Business Central and Microsoft Field Services.
4. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
5. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
6. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Desirable:
1. Background in selling solutions for complex and high-value equipment.
2. Familiarity with root cause analysis and customer-focused problem-solving methodologies.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
1. Achievement of sales targets and revenue growth.
2. Customer acquisition and retention rates.
3. Sales team performance against individual and group KPIs.
