* This is a permanent full-time role. 38.75 hrs per week.
* 1 year of Dental Nursing experience essential.

Reporting to: Practice Manager
Summary of Role
The Dental Nurse is responsible for providing excellence in service through the efficient management of patients through the practice. The Dental Nurse will work in close partnership with the Dental Team, take instruction from the Dentist and Practice Manager, and have the ability to take ownership and responsibility for clinical policies and procedures in the practice as set out by Dental Care Ireland and other regulatory bodies, including the Dental Council of Ireland.
Tasks and Responsibilities
* Working closely with the Dentist, providing chairside assistance to ensure the professional, accurate and timely completion of treatments and relevant records as required for patient care.
* Ensuring clinical tests and audits are completed as required on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
* Keeping the clinical areas and all equipment and instruments clean, tidy and sterile as appropriate, according to the practice’s health and safety policy, manufacturers’ instructions, and the Code of Practice relating to infection control as set out by the Dental Council of Ireland.
* Liaising with the Reception Team to ensure smooth patient communication and transfer of records.
* Working with the Practice Manager to assist in training new members of the clinical support team as and when required.
* Working with the Practice Manager in handling and resolving patient complaints, if they arise in line with company guidelines.
* Assisting with reception duties where required.
Essential
* 1 year Dental Nursing experience.
* Authorised to work in Ireland.
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
* Fluent in written and oral English.
* Must have working knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office 2000 or later, particularly Excel and Word, Internet and mail.
Desired
* A recognised Dental Nursing qualification is an added advantage.
Capabilities
* Understanding of basic dental terminology & ability to chart dental records.
* Knowledge of basic dental materials and the use of these materials in each specific area of dentistry.
* Knowledge of all relevant dental instruments as covered in the Dental Nursing curriculum, including basics in Oral surgery, Endodontics, Periodontics, Orthodontics, and Restorative dentistry.
* Understanding and implementation of the sterile environment and techniques.
* Competent Chairside assistance skills.
