Introduction
The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) is the governing body for Association Football in the Republic of Ireland. The FAI has primary responsibility for all regulatory and footballing aspects of the game in Ireland.
Football is a sport that is woven into the fabric of the nation, and as the national governing body the FAI is at the heart of that – from inspiring and engaging legions of passionate fans who follow leading female and male Irish players and world class tournaments, through to supporting the grassroots of the sport which reach into local communities across Ireland to help get the nation active and deliver significant physical and mental health benefits to those involved.
The Position
Reporting to the FAI Head of Performance Analysis the main purpose of this part-time role is to provide analysis and data support to the Republic of Ireland U21 Men's Team. The role will be on a casual basis compromising of in camp days and some days outside of camp.
Main Responsibilities
Produce detailed opposition analysis pre, during and post-game
Coordinate the filming and analysis of men's U21 national team performances in training and matchday environments and post training review
Manage live matchday analysis systems and workflows to provide coaches with in-game, and immediate post-match tactical analysis
Creation of performance dashboards for players and staff
Manage performance data –interpret and visualise performance data that we collect internally and are provided to us from third parties
Build Opposition player profiles from International and club performances
Work as part of an Interdisciplinary team and present relevant feedback to Head Coach, Technical Staff, Performance Staff and Medical Staff
Support the FAI Head of Performance Analysis

Ability to communicate effectively across a multi-disciplinary team
Excellent planning & organisational skills
Ability to work independently and under your own initiative
Excellent presentation skills
Knowledge, Training & Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following:
UEFA B or similar coaching qualification with a high level of tactical football knowledge
Degree in Performance Analysis, Sports Coaching, Sport Science, or other related subjects
Experience with a variety of video capture, coding, telestration and presentation software (particularly Hudl SportsCode, Studio, Insight, Matchtracker, Keynote)
Data collection experience, analysis & visualisation (Excel/Numbers, Tableau, Python, R, Power BI
Proficiency in data portals (such as Statsbomb, Impect, Opta, SkillCorner) and the ability to manipulate and visualise the outputs of these
Significant experience working with in a professional Club or International team and a strong understanding of High-Performance environment
Experience of using a Drone and Remote Pilot Competency course completed
