Quantity Surveyor

Role Description:
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor to focus on projects within the Life Sciences sector in Cork. The successful QS will be working as part of a multidiscipline project Engineering team site based.
Pre-Contract Responsibilities:
* Preparing capital cost estimates
* Implementing Target Value Design (TVD)
* Carry out value engineering appraisals as required whilst coordinating with the Design Team and/or Employer in conjunction with the Contracts Manager/ Project Manager.
* Prepare pricing documents for tender packages
* Drafting of PQQ questionnaires
* Handling queries during tender period
* Commercial evaluation of all tender submissions
* Negotiation with tenderers
Post Contract Duties:
* Valuing progress on site for interim certificates
* Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget forecasts accordingly – Manage commercial contracts
* Expediting contractors' insurances, bonds, and collateral warranties
* Validating contractors' final account
* Cashflow Management
Qualifications & Experience:
* Qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
* 3+ years' experience in a Consultancy or Main contractor environment carrying out pre and post contract duties.
* Experience in Pharma/Biopharma a bonus but not essential.
* Strong understanding of building detail and construction technology
* Strong IT skills, specifically in Excel, Cubit, Cost X and Outlook are beneficial.
