Our client is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join their Capital & Estates Department in the Midlands.
This is an initial 1-year Contract Role (with option to extend by mutual agreement) & our client is looking for candidates with strong PM experience.
This function provides a range of professional, technical, project management, property, energy, sustainability, fire and safety, and related services in respect of the procurement, development, operation, and maintenance of the client’s physical infrastructure – including lands, buildings, plant, and equipment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Arranging for preparation of specifications, drawing, and contract documents for Capital Projects.
2. Developing proposals with selected design teams and contractors.
3. Developing action plans for the timely and efficient completion of contracts.
4. Co-ordinating the tender and control stages of the project, liaising closely with the design team and site supervisory staff.
5. Supervising staff and contractors in the implementation of agreed programmes.
6. Working with service management and nurse planners to ensure that the equipping/commissioning team is established in good time and effectively supported.
7. Managing and controlling project timescales and budgets to agreed quality standards.
8. Anticipating difficulties and problems and ensuring they are resolved or escalated appropriately.
9. Managing and controlling expenditure on each assigned project, including presentations to senior management.
10. Ensuring appropriate maintenance arrangements are put in place for new buildings.
11. Acting as senior administrative officer for the management of the project.
12. Defining requirements for design services, buildings, and equipment.
13. Advising on the selection of Design Teams and managing procurement processes.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must at the latest date of application:
1. Hold a Level 8 (or higher) Quality & Qualifications Ireland major academic award in Architecture, Engineering, or Surveying accredited by the relevant Professional Institute.
Knowledge & Experience:
1. A high level of knowledge and experience of the construction of buildings and building services.
2. Leadership and team management skills.
3. Effective communication skills.
