A leading mechanical & electrical contractor with over 25+ years industry experience with a proven track record of delivering high-quality electrical installations and services across various sectors, including data centre, commercial, residential, and industrial projects. As a result of continued expansion, this company is looking to hire a Junior Quantity Surveyor for their Electrical Division.
About Your New Job
This client is seeking a skilled Junior Quantity Surveyor to join a large commercial team. The ideal candidate will have a background in quantity surveying within the electrical industry and be responsible for managing the costs and contracts associated with their electrical projects. Projects with this company range from €5-€45million. This role is crucial in ensuring that their projects are delivered within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
What Skills You'll Need
1. Cost Management: Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including materials, labor, and overheads. Monitor project budgets and manage variations.
2. Tendering & Bidding: Prepare and submit tenders for electrical works, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with industry standards.
3. Contract Administration: Manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring all parties adhere to the terms and conditions.
4. Valuation & Payments: Conduct valuations and manage interim and final payment applications. Ensure timely payment from clients and manage payments to subcontractors.
5. Cost Reporting: Prepare regular cost reports, forecasting, and financial statements for internal and client review.
6. Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and manage project risks related to costs and contracts. Propose mitigation strategies to minimize financial exposure.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of projects.
