Chief Physicist and Head of Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering
This is a key leadership role within the Beaumont Hospital, overseeing the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and directing the department, providing professional and scientific leadership on all matters related to medical physics and clinical engineering.

About the Department
The Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering (MPCE) Department provides scientific and technical support to clinical staff in relation to medical devices, diagnostic imaging, ionising and non-ionising radiation protection, teaching, and training.
The department operates within the Clinical Services division of the hospital and works across directorates. It also provides a range of physics services to individual hospitals within the RCSI Group Hospital Group.

Beaumont Hospital is a large academic teaching hospital providing emergency and acute care services across 54 medical specialties to a local community of approximately 290,000 people.
The hospital employs over 4,500 staff and has 820 beds. It is the principal teaching hospital for the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and enjoys close links with other academic institutions in respect of training and research.
