Our vision for Peripheral Intervention at BD Our Peripheral Intervention (PI) business unit offers a comprehensive range of medical products, devices and services for the treatment of peripheral arterial and venous disease, cancer detection, and end-stage renal disease and maintenance. About the role As a Mechanical Engineer you will support the Mechanical/Test team through multiple stages of the project phases, including supporting design verification and validation activities, reliability test, root cause analysis and fixture development. Main responsibilities will include: Plan, coordinate and analyze data of technical experiments at any stage of development including activities for characterization, prototype testing, and root cause analysis investigations. Support Design Verification & reliability testing Plan, coordinate and execute testing as needed Support training of technicians to applicable Test Methods and test protocols Coordinate testing, supervise test setups and complete data verification activities. Design working assemblies and detailed components for electromechanical medical devices, test jigs, and fixtures. Conduct sustaining engineering activities including root-cause analysis, hypothesis testing, and Design of Experiments. Support and generate design documentation (e.g. Test Methods, Test Protocols, Test Reports, Design Review files, etc.) of integrated systems in compliance with applicable international standards and internal quality systems. Support the ongoing compliance with requirements for Medical Devices and all associated quality system requirements. About you Degree in Mechanical/Biomedical or similar engineering Experience in design verification of Medical Device in a FDA-regulated environment is preferred. Familiarity with SolidWorks and Minitab is highly desirable. Familiarity with mechanical and electrical measurement components is desirable, such as temperature, flowmeters, pressure sensors, torque/force meters etc. Self-starter, team player, proactive, hands-, and has the ability to work with little supervision and under pressure.
