Research Assistant – Psychology Service
The Irish Prison Service is seeking a Research Assistant to support the development of a new model of intervention for people with a history of domestic violence.
The successful candidate will contribute to data collection, identify individuals in custody with a history of domestic violence, and evaluate the effectiveness of the updated programme in terms of psychological change and risk reduction.
The Research Assistant will be supervised by the Research Development and Evaluation Manager and will work closely with the IPS Psychology Service.
The key responsibilities include:

* Plan, coordinate, and implement a viability study for a potential research project on the treatment of those convicted of domestic violence.
* Manage personal and research resources effectively.
* Keep accurate records in line with IPS and UCD policies.
The position is suitable for students interested in developing their academic skills and pursuing a career in Forensic, Counselling, or Clinical Psychology.
Essential Requirements:
* A PSI-accredited qualification in psychology at Level 8 (2.1 honours grade) or an equivalent qualification in another subject with a conversion qualification.
* Graduate membership of the PSI or BPS.
* High standard of suitability, administrative ability, and research ability.
