The Affidea Group is one of the most successful European healthcare diagnostics imaging companies, with over 400 staff within our Irish clinics. We operate diagnostic imaging and minor injuries centres around the country, offering a broad range of cutting-edge imaging technology and healthcare services to the public, insurers, employers and other organisations.
We are now seeking an experienced CT Clinical Specialist to join the team based in South/ West Dublin.
Responsibilities:
* The CT Clinical Specialist is responsible for the independent operation of CT equipment and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using CT.
* Manage daily operations of the CT list, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA).
* Maintain a high standard of medical ethics and increase understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures.
* Responsible for all protocolling in conjunction with the reporting radiologists for their site.
* Ensure compliance with SI 256 and SI 30, particularly in relation to Justification, Optimisation, and safety standards.
* Train and ensure that staff in the CT department are fully compliant with policies and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with all ionising radiation legislation and maintain audit readiness.
* Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic CT examinations.
* Use cognitive radiographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate.
* Use independent judgment during CT exams to differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
* Analyse information and medical history and communicate findings to the appropriate physician.
* Coordinate work schedule with Lead Clinical Specialists/Head of clinical operations and/or scheduling desk.
* Assume responsibility for the safety, mental, and physical comfort of patients.
* Maintain and update Radiology Information Systems and CT equipment.
* Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
* Participate in staff development and individual performance review process.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or Equivalent.
* 6+ years Post graduation qualification /MSC in CT.
* Active CORU Registration.
* Extensive Experience in CT complex scanning.
