The AWS Data Center Supply Solutions team is looking for a Strategy & Acquisitions Associate to work with various stakeholder groups to procure data center capacity, support long-term scaling strategies for AWS’s infrastructure regions, and manage a portfolio of critical infrastructure agreements. As the Strategy & Acquisitions Associate, you will research and manage all areas of transaction deal flow related to data center procurement projects in the region, for both Colocation and Real Estate.

The Data Center Supply Solutions team supports AWS by planning and executing long-term scaling strategies for AWS’s global data center network. As a Strategy & Acquisitions Associate, you will support the team in the development and execution of contractual agreements with key infrastructure vendors, provide data to assist in the development of the business case for investment and support the development, presentation, approval, and tracking of long-term infrastructure scaling strategies. Proficiency in writing is essential in this role.
Key job responsibilities:
1. Leverage advantage data science skills to prepare transaction business case, forecast project costs, and partner with internal teams to submit business case for leadership review.
2. Assist with site selection process, strategy development, and data analysis across the region.
3. Manage stakeholder engagement from initial due diligence to contract review and execution, including management of all milestones to track contract execution and delivery from stakeholders.
4. Support development of Master Telecommunications Service Agreements, Work Orders, Lease Agreements, and other contractual documents.
5. Ensure data integrity in supply planning and execution systems related to infrastructure supply options including cost, capacity, key dates, and contractual terms.
6. Managing and manipulating complex data sets utilizing multiple analytical tools.
7. Develop and oversee the implementation of continual process improvement initiatives related to operational efficiency, team effectiveness, and new value-added activities.

Minimum Requirements:
1. 5+ years of demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas: business development, procurement, data mining (SQL, ETL) or finance.
2. 3+ years of demonstrable experience managing procurement transactions successfully, including supplier communication, cost analysis, negotiations and contracting, and supplier performance management.
3. 3+ years of demonstrable experience successfully managing commercial relationships with vendors and knowledge of vendor management best practices.
4. Experience with data visualization using QuickSight, Tableau, or similar tools.
5. BS/BA degree in Business, Computer Science, and/or Finance related field, or related experience.
6. Experience related to procurement of data center infrastructure goods and services.
7. Project and process management skills with capacity to manage a large number competing priorities simultaneously and work to tight deadlines.
8. Analytical skills with ability to provide big picture insights from highly granular data.
9. Fundamentals in problem-solving, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.
10. Proven ability to build relationships and influence technical and non-technical cross-functional teams to produce results.
