The Manager in the Investor Relations function will report to the Head of Investor Relations and assist in the running of PTSB’s Investor Relations function. This will involve preparing materials for all results and trading announcements, building and maintaining relationships with the investment community and external stakeholders, and handling ad-hoc investor queries.
This role will require a full end-to-end understanding of the Bank’s Income Statement and Balance Sheet, being commercially and strategically aware with a focus on the key drivers of the business, including all income and costs across the Bank.
The Manager will interact with subject matter experts across all areas of the bank, including Financial Planning, Business Partnering, and Management Reporting.
Responsibilities:
* In conjunction with the Head of IR, manage preparation of all the bank’s materials for results trading statements and conferences.
* Produce information and materials in an accurate, informative, and timely fashion, and assist in responding to ad-hoc investor queries.
* Assist the Head of IR in the management of PTSB’s relationship with investors and analysts.
* Monitor and maintain information and contact databases, e.g., analyst and consensus forecasts.
* Maintain an excellent knowledge of developments and trends in the Irish and international banking sector.
* Ensure IR activities meet all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Bank, particularly in Finance, Credit, and Risk to understand accounting and regulatory issues.
* Work with peers and the Head of IR in finding opportunities for improvements in quality, efficiency, and timeliness, and ensure execution of delivery plans.
* Develop relationships with all critical partners, both internal and external, e.g., finance staff, external financial advisors, and managing engagements proactively.
Team development and leadership:
* Participate in Group Finance development and training.
* Conduct annual Performance Management including annual and half-year reviews and monthly 1:1 meetings with your direct reports in the future.
* Recruit, train, coach, team build, and succession plan for your direct reports in the future.
* Prioritise projects and activities and appropriately delegate and collaborate cross-functionally within the FP&A and Investor Relation teams to meet the needs of the business.
Requirements: Essential:
* Significant experience of interpreting financial information to support/enabling business decisions.
* Experience of establishing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Previous Banking or Financial market experience with an established understanding of Retail Banking products and operations.
* Good understanding of asset and liability management and treasury function and accounting.
* Strong organisational and analytical capabilities with a good working knowledge of best practice financial processes/systems.
* Knowledge of bank regulatory requirements.
Desired:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 5-10+ years PQE.
* Understanding of financial markets and bank valuation methodologies.
