Mná Feasa Women's Domestic Violence Project is seeking a project worker for a part-time position.
Mná Feasa Domestic Violence Project is a constituent group of CAPRN – A Network of Community Action Projects, whose primary objectives are the empowerment of individuals and groupings experiencing economic and social exclusion, to achieve increasing agency in their lives. Mná Feasa provides services to women who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence. These services include a helpline support service, one-to-one support meetings, and support groups to help women increase their awareness and reclaim control of their lives. Mná Feasa also provides a court accompaniment service along with outreach and education work in the local and wider community.
Hours of Work: This position is part-time, 19 ½ hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required.
Salary or Pay Scale: Rate of pay will be decided upon the level of experience and qualifications.
Location: CAPRN CLG - Mná Feasa Domestic Violence Project, St. Mary's Health Campus, Gurranabraher, Cork City.

Summary of the Role: The successful candidate will be part of a team of resource workers and volunteers who carry out duties under the supervision of the Team Leader and the guidance of the Administration Group. The candidate will offer a listening, non-judgmental service while working with women on the helpline, on a one-to-one basis, and in a support group setting when necessary. Community education and raising awareness are essential parts of our work, and the successful candidate will participate in outreach work. A working knowledge of computer software packages and GDPR legislation is required.
Role and Duties of the Project Worker:
* Offer a confidential and non-judgmental listening service on the dedicated Helpline.
* Attend one-to-one meetings with women who require support in person.
* Advocate for women who require external support.
* Ensure confidentiality is adhered to at all times, treating women with dignity and respect.
* Engage in administrative work and organize various tasks.
* Liaise with local groups as part of community education and awareness-raising.
* Produce reports and other documents as required.
* Stay informed of developments in domestic violence on a national level, including changes in policy and legislation.
* Adhere to CAPRN CLG/Mná Feasa Domestic Violence Project Policies, including Tusla policies on Child Protection.
* Conduct and participate in research tailored for a target audience.
Requirements:
The candidate should have a qualification and/or direct work experience of a minimum of 3 years in at least one of the following areas:
* Domestic Violence Work
* Social Care Work
* Community Development and Education
The candidate will agree to Garda Vetting by CAPRN CLG.
The candidate will possess excellent communication skills, work well within the current team, and have the ability to work on their own initiative while taking direction from a voluntary administration group.
Proficient IT skills are essential.
The candidate will be required to attend supervision with the team and our volunteers on a monthly basis.
