The Role:
1. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Workshop ensuring optimum and consistent labour utilisation, labour deployment, and job efficiency.
2. Manage a team of 10 Technicians in a busy environment.
3. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
4. Book in vehicles for service and repair by telephone, email, or personally.
5. Generate estimates and invoices.
6. Hand over the vehicle to customers and explain any issues relating to the work/future work required.
7. Meet with customers to identify and clearly understand problems as and when required.
8. Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices.
9. Complete relevant service documentation in line with Dealer and Manufacturer requirements.
10. Check level and quality of work through use of diagnostic equipment and road testing vehicles after work has been carried out.
The Person:
1. Ideally, but not essentially, a Qualified Mechanic or a person with 3 years’ experience in managing a Vehicle Workshop & team of Technicians.
2. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
3. Strong computer skills including MS Office; experience of Assetminder would be an advantage.
4. HGV / PSV licence an advantage.
5. Team player with the ability to work on their own initiative.
6. Be flexible and prepared to work in any required areas.
