Pinterest’s Data Privacy Engineering team builds access control, auditing, and data handling services and solutions used across Pinterests’s tech stack. We’re looking for a growing engineer with expertise in an existing coding area that wants to grow their knowledge and help us tackle problems across Pinterest’s Big Data tech stack. You’ll own a set of features and services that helps internal data users safely utilize the latest technologies on large-scale datasets.
What you’ll do:
Own a set of features and implement them across Data Engineering platforms and become an expert in your feature area
Field open-ended feature and support requests related to Data Privacy and data access from engineers throughout Pinterest
Produce reliable, scalable, designs for your projects
Partner with upstream platform teams and downstream data consumers to build end-to-end solutions for complicated problems
What we’re looking for:
Top-tier coding ability in at least one major programming language, and the interest and ability to learn more quickly
The ability to quickly move across tech stacks to commit and review code changes
Expertise in the use of logging for auditing and remote systems debugging, and strong debugging skills
Strong understanding of design patterns and architectures in your current field
Some experience with SQL or SQL-like systems and big-data systems experience are a plus
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience

This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/month and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
