The Product Design Engineering team is looking for a Senior Mechanical Product Design Engineer to become part of a global data center engineering team, responsible for the design and continuous innovation of mechanical products within our rapidly expanding data center footprint.

Key job responsibilitiesCollaborate with internal and external ecosystem partners to design and develop industry leading data center mechanical product solutions.Perform advance component selections to optimize product designs and create energy / water analysis on expected product performance.Create detailed product design drawings using common industry software programs capable of being manufactured at select vendors and contract manufacturers.Support field engineering and data center operation teams for performing root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.Writing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.A day in the lifeOur Mechanical Product Design Engineers work closely with key partners to innovate, create, manage, and deliver world class mechanical products to be deployed in our data centers. Our Mechanical Product Design Engineers work passionately to create product designs, select components, and perform analyses that ultimately lead to compelling product solutions that drive business value. They then partner with cross functional teams and external vendors to make their product designs a reality at AWS scale.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or equivalent domain specific technical experience.Experience in product design development/HVAC design/related product development and fluent with common industry drawing applications.Thorough understanding and use of principals, theories and concepts in mechanical engineering.Deep understanding of data center mechanical systems and cooling control schemes, and industry standards.Familiarity of product verification using testing and experience for product certification testing by third party lab.Experience evaluating design, performance and logistical tradeoffs for rack and room level products.Proficient with FEA and CFD-based analysis tools.Experience designing air- or water-cooled systems for high-heat density applications.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
