About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide essential support for young people (aged 15–18) in a short-term residential setting. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will help them overcome challenges, break the cycle of homelessness, and prepare for independent living.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a key worker for individual young people, providing tailored support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
* Support young people who have experienced trauma and challenging behaviours, using your expertise to develop and implement effective strategies.
* Develop and maintain individual placement plans in line with statutory care plans, ensuring that each young person receives the best possible care.
* Collaborate with external agencies, such as housing providers, educational institutions, and social support services, to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting our young people.
* Maintain accurate records in compliance with health and safety standards, ensuring that all necessary information is up-to-date and easily accessible.
* Participate in a 7-day, 24-hour roster, working collaboratively with colleagues to provide round-the-clock support.
Requirements
* Degree in Social Care or related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in relevant theories and practices.
* Experience in residential care or working with children with complex needs, showcasing your ability to work effectively with vulnerable populations.
* Knowledge of HIQA standards, Child Protection, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, highlighting your understanding of essential policies and procedures.
* Strong communication skills and teamwork mindset, enabling you to build effective relationships with colleagues, young people, and external partners.
* Full, clean driver's license, allowing you to transport young people safely and efficiently.
