Job Description:
A talented Chef is sought after to work in healthcare settings within the Cork area.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to patients, visitors, and staff while ensuring food safety and adhering to specific dietary requirements.
Chef Responsibilities:
* Meal Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook meals tailored to patient dietary needs, ensuring nutritional and dietary restrictions are met.
* Kitchen Management: Organise and oversee food preparation areas, ensuring kitchen operations are efficient and that meals are prepared to the highest standards.
* Food Safety & Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness and adhere to strict hygiene standards in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, including HACCP procedures.
* Patient-Focused Service: Collaborate with dietary teams to serve meals to patients, ensuring meals align with their specific dietary needs and providing exceptional service.
* Menu Planning & Special Requests: Assist in creating diverse and balanced menus, accommodating individual patient preferences or medical conditions.
Chef Requirements:
* Garda Vetting: Mandatory to ensure the safety of all patients and staff. This application will be completed by Excel prior to candidates starting work.
* Manual Handling Certification: Required for safe handling of equipment and food preparation; training may be provided if necessary.
* HACCP Knowledge: A solid understanding of food safety standards, with certification required or provided.
* Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to interact clearly and effectively with patients, team members, and other healthcare staff.
* Flexibility: Availability to work a range of shifts, including weekends, as required.
* Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items.
