**Job Title:** Ad Astra Fellow - Assistant Professor in Sustainable Construction
The School of Civil Engineering at University College Dublin (UCD) invites applications for an Ad Astra Lecturer/Assistant Professor role in Sustainable Construction. This position is part of a research-driven school with a strong focus on delivering excellent research and education.
We are an internationally recognised centre for excellence in research and teaching, ranked in the global top 150 for 'Civil and Structural Engineering' (QS Global Rankings). Our School is part of the UCD College of Engineering and Architecture, which has been awarded a renewal of the Athena SWAN bronze award for its commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
The successful candidate will join the Centre for Critical Infrastructure Research (CCIR), a multi-disciplinary research centre that addresses key issues related to infrastructure asset management. Through their research excellence and collaborative networks, they will have opportunities to develop large-scale national and international funding proposals that advance the Sustainable Construction research agenda.
The construction sector is critical to Ireland's national economy and plays a key role in implementing the National Development Plan. Decarbonising the construction sector is a priority, as outlined in the Climate Action Plan. The successful applicant will have opportunities to support policy development in this area through Construct Innovate, Ireland's National Centre for Construction Technology and Innovation.
We offer professionally accredited programmes in Civil Engineering and Structural Engineering with Architecture. In addition to developing their research portfolio, the successful candidate will contribute to Teaching and Curriculum Development through designing and delivering innovative undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Sustainable Construction and related topics.
