Role Summary/ Principal Accountabilities The NTMA, the Manager of the ISIF, is offering an exceptional opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to join a team tasked with investing in Food and Agriculture related opportunities, in support of the broader ISIF mandate.
The role provides a unique development opportunity for a high-calibre candidate to gain exposure to the highest standards of the investment management industry.
The role will have a high level of investment exposure from the outset.
The successful candidate can expect to work on all aspects of transactions.
The Investment Manager's role is to work closely with the Senior Investment Managers and other team members on the delivery of all transactions within the portfolio, and subsequent to investment, manage investments throughout their full lifecycle.
The successful candidate will be a member of the Food, Agriculture and Marine Investment team and work across a variety of initiatives which include:
Contribute to development of ISIF Food, Agriculture and Marine Investment strategySupport Origination and execution of transactions (both direct and platform investments) aligned with this strategy, across multiple areas of the economyProvide detailed financial expertise, and support, including financial modelling, in the investment appraisal and underwriting of transactionsRemain up to date on Policy and regulatory developments in Food, Agriculture and Marine related areasLead significant complex transactions / portfolio activitiesLead negotiations with third partiesProduce very high-quality papers and presentationsCo-ordinate projects / transactions, review and ensure quality, drive deliveryWide ranging monitoring responsibilitiesSet scope of analysis required, organize advisors as required Knowledge The ideal candidate will have a relevant third level qualification and demonstrate a keen and well-informed interest in investment and the Food, Agriculture and Marine sector and the associated investment opportunities.
They should have a strong appetite to continuously learn more about latest developments and research on the Food, Agriculture and Marine sector, and be adept at creating and manipulating financial models for financial analysis and investment appraisal.
Desired Experience Experience in working in Corporate Finance, Private equity, commercial/corporate banking, or similar environment is required.
Experience of relationship management with investees and/or other third parties is essential.
Previous experience working with Investment Committee and Board is preferred.
The candidate should possess a strong network and reputation across the market with a strong track record in investment (equity or debt).
Technically strong across a range of sub-sectors and/or products with strong project management/delivery capabilities and relationship management will also be considered a requirement.
Skills Highly numerate and analytical with the ability to operate independently and think critically.
A strong communicator, both in writing and verbally, who is also an open and good collaborator and team player.
The candidate should display a high level of appetite, flexibility, accuracy, speed, delivery and reliability, along with a good range of interpersonal skills to influence internal and external stakeholders.
Pension Abatement If an appointee has previously been employed in the Civil or Public Service and that appointee is entitled to or in receipt of a pension from the Civil or Public Service or where a Civil/Public Service pension comes into payment during the appointee's re-employment that pension will be subject to abatement in accordance with Section 52 of the Public Service Pensions (Single Scheme and other Provisions) Act 2012.
