Job Description
Job Purpose
1. With respect to the Group's International Treasury (Aspen Treasury Ireland Limited or “ATIL”): Undertake day-to-day front and/ or middle office operating activitiesProvide dedicated support in areas of accounting, risk, controls, reporting, analyses
2. As a mid-level member of Group Treasury, support the Group Executive: Treasury in discharging their responsibilities with respect to the Group’s overall treasury objectives (as defined in the Group Treasury Policy)
Job Objectives:
3. The job involves both non-operational and operational activities.
4. Non-operational activities include preparing and supporting internal audit controls testing, Board meeting information pack, capital adequacy assessment, and group tax-related submissions.
5. Other non-operational activities include counterparty KYC requirements and risk and control matrix alignment.
6. The job also involves reviewing third-party and intragroup treasury-related invoices and monthly management accounts.
7. Operational activities include typical corporate treasury front office roles.
8. These include capturing new debt/banking facilities and executing intragroup and external FX spot, FX derivative, interest rate derivative, debt, and short-term investment deals.
9. The job also involves typical corporate treasury middle office roles.
10. These include consolidating and analyzing FX spot trades, FX risk management, near-term cash forecasts, and validating deals executed by the front office.
11. The job also involves bank account management, treasury counterparty management, bank fee analysis, and market data validation.
12. The Treasury Analyst will support the Group's overall treasury objectives.
13. This includes preparing, supporting, or contributing towards managing interest rate risk, foreign exchange rate risk, counterparty risk, liquidity risk, financial covenants, and loan-related undertakings.
14. The job also involves cash optimization and contributing towards the Group Treasury Committee meeting information pack and/or minutes.
15. The Treasury Analyst will prepare or contribute towards the Treasury Policy KPI report.
16. In support of Group Financial Reporting, the Treasury Analyst will prepare interest expense forecasts and monthly and semi-annual forecast Group-level analyses of net interest and net borrowings.
17. The Treasury Analyst will also prepare monthly Group-level analyses of FX P&L and exposures and hedge accounting documentation/journals.
18. The job involves supporting Group Treasury as a Group-wide business function.
19. This includes contributing towards risk and control matrix alignment, supporting internal audit controls testing, and preparing documentation regarding material treasury-related capital transactions.
20. The Treasury Analyst will leverage off the Group's TMS (SAP Treasury) to find new ways of adding value through risk & cost reduction, automation, simplification, and optimizing capital resource allocation within the Group.
21. The Treasury Analyst will also contribute towards counterparty KYC processes and other related administrative tasks.
22. For small-to-medium-sized assignments, the Treasury Analyst will lead the technical execution of such assignments, including providing technical direction to other more junior professionals or specialists working thereon, while for large assignments, the Treasury Analyst will support the execution of such assignments under direction from the Group Executive: Treasury with a limited degree of autonomy.
Job Requirements
23. Bachelor of Commerce or similar qualification
24. Chartered Accountants Ireland is preferred, but not required
25. Accounting articles experience (preferably with financial services or treasury-type multinational clients)
26. +1 year post articles experience is preferred, but not essential
27. Financial services industry, or in the finance/ treasury division of a mid to large corporate
28. Knowledge of/ previous use of SAP Treasury
29. Knowledge of/ previous involvement in syndicated loan or debt capital markets issuances
30. Experience in communicating with a large number of stakeholders
31. Excellent Excel and Word skills
32. Moderate understanding or skill level in corporate-treasury concepts and related financial instruments (including hedging instruments, loan agreements and guarantees)
33. Moderate understanding of Irish company law and corporate processes
