We're seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II on a permanent basis to join our team.
Job Purpose:
The Manufacturing Engineer II will work as part of a cross-functional and global team to implement new manufacturing equipment and processes. This engineer will function within a diverse group to set up production lines in our Clonmel facility, implementing creative solutions to manufacturing challenges including new technologies and innovative techniques. The role includes ownership and driving of equipment sourcing, validation, and implementation within the quality system. Opportunities exist to mentor junior engineers and technicians. Collaborations with other BSC manufacturing sites will take place both virtually and during multi-site visits.
This role involves process ownership of defined areas – owning and driving process and equipment improvements and driving strategic and cost projects.
Interfaces with Quality and Research and Development organizations to integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area and to address any quality issues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the transfer of BSC Scope products to BSC Clonmel.
2. Develop an in-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process for the scope's products including all aspects of production and process controls in place on these manufacturing lines.
3. Develop and perform equipment/software qualifications, process characterizations, process validations and test method validations in support of product transfer.
4. Initiate and complete technical activities leading to new or improved products or processes, for current programs, next generation programs, and to meet strategic goals and objectives of the company.
5. Process owner for defined area and drives ownership of engineering activities/methodologies with an emphasis on equipment/systems validation lifecycle to approved procedures and standards.
6. Demonstrate a wide knowledge of manufacturing process technologies and ability to develop expertise quickly.
7. Evaluate and lead the implementation of new equipment/processes through research, analysis, evaluation, selection of software designs, operating systems with identification/verification of requirements using engineering best practices.
8. Be an expert problem solver with understanding of engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices, and techniques. Coordinate and conduct technical investigation and documentation of non-conforming events and trends and develop technical investigation plans using BSC Engineering Essentials.
9. Continuously improve process and work methodologies by interfacing with peers/cross-functional groups and analyzing activities to improve workflow and work processes.
10. Incorporate business policies and procedures into task completion. Understand the business needs of the company and have knowledge of the customer needs of our business. Understand the business cycle and foresight of emerging technologies trends.
11. Be part of a strong team culture around high expectations & high performance.
12. Provide clear communication to stakeholders at key technical updates.
Education & Experience:
1. Hons Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Science essential.
2. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
3. FDA experience highly desirable but not essential.
4. Experience in validation lifecycle.
This role requires a self-starter who can work independently while possessing strong team player characteristics. Availability for short-term travel is desirable.
