Job Description
The purpose of this role is to drive key objectives for service to all Network depots, cost, productivity and throughput through effective employee management, maintenance of company operating standards, compliance with ISO procedures and strategic leadership of direct reports.
Operational Hours: 8pm-2am. Flexibility is required.
Main Responsibilities:
Strategic:
To contribute to Central Operations planning and strategy.
Operational:
* Manage night operations sortation processes and parcel movements in line with company policy.
* Evaluate quality procedures at night to ensure delivery.
* Coordinate holiday planning according to operational needs.
* Achieve Hub sortation unit costs and exceed company-set service levels.
* Oversee yard traffic management to ensure safe and efficient site traffic movement.
Financial:
* Monitor and control night Hub operations costs through financial planning and reporting.
* Contribute to annual and period planning.
Service:
* Collaborate with the wider Operations team to provide support to depot networks.
Health & Safety/Security:
* Maintain a safe working environment by implementing company Health and Safety policy.
* Contribute to Security Policy and facilitate security awareness initiatives.
HR:
* Support recruitment efforts for the Night Team.
* Develop strategies to improve employee retention.
* Investigate and resolve disciplinary issues according to company procedures.
* Effectively manage employees through communication, training, and performance evaluations.
* Coach and develop direct reports through regular feedback and coaching sessions.
* Minimize absence-related lost time and sick pay costs.
* Lead the On-Job Trainer program to ensure new hires receive adequate training.
Other:
* Undertake projects designated by the CEO and collaborate with department heads on other initiatives.
* Liaise with external consultants and auditors to support Annual Report and CSR Report production.
Qualifications:
* Third-level qualification in supply chain or related field or equivalent experience.
* Flexibility in working hours.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Clean driver's license.
* Strong communication and administrative skills, including proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems and MS Office.
