The Mercantile Group, a leading hospitality company based in Dublin, is seeking a talented Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. The Mercantile Group venues include some of Ireland's most famous venues such as Café en Seine, Whelan's, The George, NoLIta, Opium, The Mercantile Hotel and Pichet.
Job Overview:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, including deductions, bonuses, and benefits. Success in this role involves maintaining compliance with payroll regulations. The Payroll Specialist works closely with the HR and Finance departments to ensure that payroll information is up-to-date and accurate. This position contributes to the smooth functioning of the organization by ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Collecting and reviewing timekeeping information from venue managers and employees across the group.
2. Processing payroll weekly using Sage Payroll and making necessary adjustments.
3. Communicating and collaborating while liaising with managers and members of staff in venues and office.
4. Addressing employee queries regarding payslips and other HR areas to assist the HR manager.
5. Ensuring compliance and accuracy with HR policies, tax regulations, and confidentiality protocols.
6. Record keeping and completing financial reports.
7. Performing ad hoc tasks as required to assist the HR manager.

Qualifications:
1. Minimum 1 year of experience as a payroll operator.
2. Proficiency in Sage Payroll, Microsoft Excel, and Bizimply Timekeeping software.
