The Position
We wish to appoint a Qualified Audit Senior (Insurance) in our Audit & Assurance Financial Services Department. The position will offer you excellent advancement opportunities working with a diverse range of high-profile financial institutions with a particular focus on insurance. You will work closely with our international colleagues on cross border assignments and build close working relationships with the senior management team and partners. You will play an active role in the ongoing development of our financial services division.
Key Responsibilities
1. Responsibility for a portfolio of insurance audit & assurance clients
2. Work closely with the senior management team in maintaining and developing client relationships
3. Planning of audit assignments, transitions from previous auditors and onboarding of new clients, design and implementation of audit strategy and staffing of assignments,
4. Co-ordination/lead of the execution of the strategy at the audit fieldwork stage ensuring efficient and high-quality delivery of audit services
5. Compliance with the Mazars audit methodology, with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and accounting technical matters
6. Work to deadlines and within budgets
7. Advising on financial reporting and other technical report matters raised by clients
8. Involvement in firm / department development and marketing and recruitment initiatives
9. Contribution to learning & development and coaching of less experienced staff
Principal Requirements
10. Qualified accountant with financial services audit experience (ideally in the insurance industry) in a large practice environment
11. Technical proficiency in IFRS,FRS 102 & Solvency II
12. Fluent English with excellent oral and written communication skills
13. Experience of operational supervision of assignments and managing of client relationships
14. Excellent interpersonal skills
15. Excellent organisational and project management capabilities
16. Ability to provide guidance and feedback to others
