We are proud to be launching a new state-of-the-art technology facility in Dublin, Ireland. The Dublin-based team will play a critical role in our continued digital transformation and will function as a center of excellence for SiriusXM’s global Product and Technology organization.
SiriusXM’s new Dublin facility will comprise a workforce primarily focused on software development, automotive technology and engineering, AdTech, data science, and analytics. Talent based in the new technology hub will be charged with developing and implementing best-in-class standards for high-quality, scalable software deliveries for SiriusXM’s streaming and in-vehicle audio entertainment platforms.
How you’ll make an impact:
This position of Manager, Software Engineering is within our Client Software Engineering organization. This role will lead a team of either iOS, Android or Web-based client software engineers for our SiriusXM and Pandora products. As a member of our Client Software Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to improve the Pandora and SiriusXM experiences to the millions of customers we serve. You will get the chance to take on complex and interesting problems as part of a fast-paced, highly collaborative team. We hold ourselves to high standards and take pride in our work. What you’ll do:
* Lead a team of iOS, Android or Web software engineers
* Be hands-on with your team and the code they produce
* Help develop innovative enhancements and new features for our existing Pandora and SiriusXM applications or websites
* Assist in the troubleshooting of pre- and post-production issues with your team
* Participate in code-reviews as part of a much larger team
* Be familiar with the overall software stack and the software components of the applications and website we build, and always be looking for ways to improve
* Own the software development coding standards, code review, and all documentation as it applies to software development of the platforms you work on
* Participate in the Agile development process for client development
* Collaborate with senior members of the team to help generate task breakdowns
* Keep fully aware of the industry evolution, new technologies, and evolution of client application or web frameworks
* Be a mentor for the members of your team
* Report regularly to your manager, the Director of Software Engineering
What you’ll need:
* A desire to lead technical teams from the front (managers are expected to be highly technical and able to contribute with their team)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A growth mindset and an ability to learn quickly
* 6+ years of experience developing Client Software for either iOS, Android or Web-based platforms
* A strong interest in collaborating via code reviews and technical discussions
* Web:
o Experience with core technologies such as Node.JS, GitHub Actions, Webpack, Vite, Nomad, Docker, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Jest, Vitest.
o Experience with cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
o Experience with CI/CD environments like Jenkins, Travis CI, or GitHub actions.
o Experience writing unit, integration and acceptance tests with Jest, Vitest, or similar.
o Ability to troubleshoot problems across multiple levels of web application stack.
o Experience with Docker, or other containerization technologies.
o Experience with Webpack, Vite, or similar, and related JavaScript / TypeScript tooling.
o Exposure to architectural design patterns of highly scaled web applications.
o Nice to have experience building responsive and mobile web experiences.
o Nice to have familiarity with HTML5/JavaScript environments beyond web browsers.
o Nice to have solid command of web standards, best practices, accessibility and browser compatibility issues.
* iOS:
o Experience with implementing native apps for iOS using the latest Apple features and technologies including Xcode and Instruments.
o Experience with Swift, SwiftUI, Combine and other foundational Apple frameworks like AVFoundation and StoreKit.
o Experience with MVVM and other modern design patterns.
o Interest in modern iOS tools like swiftlint, swiftformat, swiftgen, or Nuke.
o Experience with CI/CD environments like Github Actions and fastlane.
* Android:
o Experience implementing native apps for Android using the latest Android features and technologies including Android Studio.
o Experience with Kotlin, Coroutines, Jetpack Compose and other Google Android frameworks like Hilt and media3.
o Experience with MVVM and other modern design patterns
o Interest in modern open source Android projects like Coil and okhttp.
o Experience with CI/CD environments like Github Actions and Gradle.
