Director of Education
The objective of this role is to lead and deliver the strategic development of Accounting Technicians Ireland's Education function, with a view to developing and enhancing qualifications in an all-island and international setting.
This is an exciting time to work at ATI, the leading professional Accounting Technician body in Ireland. We are about to embark on an all-island higher education apprenticeship degree progression pathway, creating immense opportunities for our members and partners.
The Director of Education leads around 15 staff across five teams, working on:
1. Curriculum: providing effective curricula that offer a measurable plan and structure for delivering quality ATI further and higher education & lifelong learning.
2. Apprenticeship: managing and quality assuring the apprenticeship programme, ensuring it meets standards required by QQI for validated programmes and CCEA for NI Higher-Level Apprenticeship.
3. Delivery: managing the delivery of ATIs programmes, including student and educator support, Academy programme management, and new quality measures.
4. Quality: managing ATIs Awarding Organisations (AO) compliance, provider compliance with QQI regulations, and continuous improvement of Quality Assurance Systems (QAS).
5. Assessment: implementing ATIs annual Assessment strategy, operational management of online assessment delivery, and analysis/reporting on assessment performance.
The Director of Education is responsible for leading and managing the Education team, ensuring a supportive and inclusive working environment, high performance, prioritization, and sequencing of workloads, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the design and implementation of excellent ATI-wide planning processes, including education strategy, department planning, and student number planning/forecasting.
* Designing and implementing effective methods and processes for monitoring and evaluating education performance, mitigating educational risks.
* Guiding analysis and evaluation of strategic opportunities/options, supporting strategic decision-making with good evidence and expert advice.
* Overseeing effective support for external relationships with government, agencies, and business organizations, influencing decisions affecting ATI, mitigating risks, and optimizing opportunities.
* Tracking external FE&HE education policy and market developments, applying insights to advise on strategic decision-making.
* Ensuring excellent and productive relationships with other departments and colleagues across the Institute.
* Leading special projects as requested by the Chief Operations Officer.
* Producing reports and briefings as requested by the Chief Operations Officer and Education Board.
Person specification:
* Extensive experience in Higher Education.
* Excellent understanding of the Higher Education environment in Ireland and current issues impacting the mission and nature of Accounting Technicians Ireland.
* Analytical skills, able to evaluate and apply evidence to solve complex issues at operational and strategic levels.
* Proven ability leading, managing, and developing teams.
* Outstanding strategic thinker, able to scope and evaluate options and find solutions, adeptly juggling multiple projects.
* Able to handle high-level, sensitive, and confidential matters and information appropriately.
* A personal alignment to the values of Accounting Technicians Ireland and equality, inclusion, and diversity.
* Post Graduate qualified or equivalent professional qualification.
