We are currently recruiting a Basic Grade Cardiac Physiologist (Maternity Contract) to work as an integral part of the team with the hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Responsibilities
* The methods and variety of tools utilised in modern medicine for patient diagnosis, care, and therapy should be known to the cardiac physiologist.
* In accordance with departmental and hospital policy and procedure, performs electrocardiograms, Holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, event monitoring, exercise stress testing, tilt table testing, pacemaker and ICD follow-up and programming, and echocardiography.
* Performs all invasive cardiac diagnostic tests, such as FFR/iFR, pacemaker and ICD implants, right heart catheterisation, angiography, and angioplasty.
* Has familiarity with diagnostic cardiac operations suitable for the grade.
* It is crucial to have a thorough comprehension of all such operations and the capacity to take precise measurements.
* Upholds infection control protocols to safeguard employees and patients.
* Keeps a safe workplace in place.
* Keeps all interactions with hospital departments polite and professional.
* Complies with business policies by placing orders and keeping enough supplies on hand.
* Assesses equipment and offers recommendations for its purchase, use, or renting.
* Maintains current knowledge and comprehension of any new advancements in cardiology.
* A cardiac physiologist must keep up with new advancements and changes in medical procedures, which requires them to renew their training and knowledge. Where feasible, study leave for suitable in-service training will be encouraged.
Requirements
* Be a graduate of Technology University Dublin or Dublin Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Measurement, or hold a Level 8 equivalent related scientific certification as validated by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurements Physiology (IICMP).
* Hold the Dublin Institute of Technology's Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) or hold a comparable scientific degree that is applicable, as verified by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiology (IICMP).
* Have worked in a cardiac department for at least a year after receiving their degree.
* Have access to Advanced Life Support.
* Strong general understanding of cardiology.
* The capacity to use evidence-based practice and use research in clinical settings.
* Strong time-management and organising abilities.
