Assistant Lecturer in Electrical Trades (Fixed Term Contract) #IJ Vacancy Description : The School of Engineering wishes to recruit for an Assistant Lecturer post in Electrical Trades.
The person appointed will have responsibility for the delivery of Phase 4 and Phase 6 curricula in the Electrical apprenticeship and may deliver on some part-time programmes.
The appointment will be made on a full time, half-time or hourly paid basis, for a fixed term of 1 year with the possibility of an extension to 3 years.
The appointment commences in January 2025.
Qualifications:
Candidates should hold as a minimum a primary Level 6 Advanced Certificate craft qualification in Electrical trades (or equivalent) with at least three years post qualification experience.
Other level 6 advanced craft certificates such as Electrical Instrumentation may also be considered for the post.
Where candidates have a relevant Honours Degree, three years post qualification experience will suffice.
The focus will be on the candidates ability to deliver the standards based electrical curriculum at both phase 4 and phase 6 training.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable:
Honours Degree in relevant Engineering discipline (or equivalent).
Relevant teaching experience.
Appropriate IT skills (MS Office, Solidworks/CAD, etc).
