Job Description:
The Community Centre Manager is responsible for the overall management of the daily operations of one or more Community Centres in the Fingal area. This includes reporting to the Board/Representatives of the Board, management and engagement of clients and activities, and general management including staff management. The Manager will be the main point of contact for the Centres and, in line with the Community Centres’ mission, aims and objectives, will endeavor to provide a positive focal point for the local communities and strive to meet their diverse needs in an inclusive manner.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Act as the main point of contact for Community Centres.
2. Report to the Board of Management/Representative on strategic planning, financial matters, pricing, and staff issues monthly.
3. Develop Business and Marketing Plans to enhance income streams and promote community engagement.
4. Implement the Community Centre’s Business aims and objectives.
5. Develop relationships with stakeholders (e.g., Local Development Groups, Resident Associations, local Schools, etc.) to ensure a healthy environment for all users.
6. Ensure familiarity with health and safety policies and lead emergency procedures.
7. Provide a welcoming environment for customers and visitors.
8. Respond to enquiries, show potential hirers around, and manage communication.
9. Ensure all processes/procedures are implemented effectively.
10. Produce monthly reports and documentation as directed.
11. Oversee building maintenance and contractor supervision.
12. Manage the Centre’s budgets and financial systems.
13. Apply for relevant grants and funding for financial sustainability.
14. Manage staff recruitment, motivation, and performance reviews.
15. Ensure adherence to Environmental, Health and Safety guidelines.
16. Oversee invoicing and payment processes for clients.
17. Maintain filing systems and records.
18. Participate in keyholding and out-of-hours contact lists.
19. Manage pre-planned maintenance schedules.
20. Resolve challenging situations effectively.
21. Liaise with relevant contacts regarding participants and compliance.
22. Participate in Fingal County Councils Facilities Network and attend master classes.
23. Innovate in the development of Community Based Projects.
24. Other duties as required.
