The National Gallery of Ireland is seeking an Exhibition Coordinator to join the Exhibitions & Collection Services Department on a specified purpose contract.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage exhibitions and displays, including project scheduling and milestone management.
* Act as the main point of contact for projects, chairing meetings and ensuring action points are met.
* Assist with exhibition identity development, design, audio guides, and curatorial texts.
* Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, exercising diplomacy and discretion.
* Manage loan lists, working closely with exhibition curators and reporting on loan requests.
* Administer loan agreements, ensure conditions are met, and maintain accurate records.
* Maintain exhibition galleries and displays, taking corrective action as necessary.
* Develop, compile, and distribute exhibition information and statistics.
* Monitor costs and ensure project budgets are adhered to.
* Raise purchase orders and follow up on invoices.
* Circulate catalogues to lenders after exhibitions open.
* Work with the Art Handling and Loans Manager on logistics and installation.
* Supervise artwork loading and unloading (out-of-hours duties may be required).
* Coordinate project debriefs and evaluations.
* Ensure health and safety compliance according to the NGI Safety Statement.
* Undertake courier duties in Ireland and abroad upon successful completion of training.
* Provide general support to the Exhibitions team and Head of Department.
Requirements:
1. Reporting to the Head of Exhibitions & Collection Services.
2. Salary range: €36,544 per annum, in accordance with the Executive Officer salary scale (PPC).
