Role Description:
We are seeking an Environmental Consultant to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives on working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and seeks to drive business growth. The successful candidate will work on projects across a wide range of sectors including the extractive and waste industry and domestic, commercial and industrial developments. This role offers the unique opportunity to work on diverse projects in a supportive team.
Key responsibilities:
* Manage projects from conception through completion with both clients, internal teams and external specialists to ensure successful delivery.
* Communicating with clients, external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with all project requirements.
* Liaising with County Councils, An Bord Pleanála and other statutory bodies as required.
* Drive growth and development of the company.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
* Understand client needs, provide expert advice, and deliver high-quality environmental consulting services to meet project objectives.
* Take ownership of projects from inception to completion, including proposal development, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
* Providing mentorship and direction to team members and sub-consultants.
Skills to include:
* A working knowledge and proven track record of Environmental Impact Assessment, preparation and management
* Permitting processes
* EPA Industrial Emissions Licence applications
* Preparation of discharge licence applications
* Preparation of waste permission applications
* By products (Article 27) and end of waste (Article 28)
* And other environmental reports.
Essential Requirements:
* Full Clean Driving Licence
* Fluent/highly proficient in spoken and written English
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in the environmental sector
* Proven expertise in Environmental Consultancy.
* Demonstrated experience in conducting environmental assessments, impact studies, and regulatory compliance assessments.
* Technical report writing skills
* Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results on time.
* Knowledge of EU and Irish legislation and it’s practical applications.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and project management abilities
* Capable of working independently and willingness to travel
* Ability to work collaboratively
* Excellent time management
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
Preferred:
* Project management qualification
* Chartership in a recognized environmental professional body (e.g., IEMA, IEI, IGI, CIWM, CIWEM, CIEEM)
* Safe Pass
* Manual Handling
* First Aid
