Job Description
The DON and ADON play a crucial role in overseeing daily nursing staff operations and ensuring the highest standard of care for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the nursing department's day-to-day operations.
* Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including performance evaluations and ongoing training and support.
* Ensure compliance with HIQA regulations and company policies.
* Develop and implement personalized care plans for residents.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.
* Monitor residents' health status and respond promptly to changes in condition.
* Participate in nursing staff recruitment, selection, and onboarding.
* Maintain accurate records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the NMBI.
* Minimum 6 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
* Strong knowledge of HIQA regulatory requirements.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Fundraising and Budgeting:
Managing budgets, staffing schedules, and resource allocation are key responsibilities of this role.
Clinical Audits:
The DON and ADON regularly review clinical documentation, ensuring timely assessments, care planning, and implementation of care.
