The Knocknagoshel Environmental & Angling Association (KEAA) is a registered Irish Charity (Number RCN: 20163921) established officially in 1998. However, the group was originally formed in 1977 and focused on providing opportunities for fishing along the River Owveg (Abha Beag). It has a long history of supporting angling for multiple community members and river conservation.
The Knocknagoshel Environmental and Angling Association is currently in a period of expansion. We are now seeking a Part-Time Development Officer to drive the mobilization of grant funding (upwards of €10,000) and support the delivery of projects that benefit the local community. This role will focus on securing funding, managing relationships with funders and the wider community, and ensuring the successful implementation of projects that align with the Association’s environmental and community objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Research and identify relevant funding opportunities, focusing on grants.
2. Write compelling grant proposals, ensuring alignment with KEAA’s goals in environmental conservation, sustainable angling, and community development.
3. Manage grant submissions and deadlines, tracking proposals and funding.
4. Oversee the delivery of funded projects, ensuring outcomes are met and reported to funders.
5. Prioritize community engagement, ensuring projects directly benefit local residents and foster long-term environmental sustainability.
6. Maintain relationships with funders and key stakeholders, ensuring regular communication on project progress.
7. Develop partnerships with local organizations to enhance community-driven environmental and recreational initiatives.
Qualifications:
1. Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or development (minimum 2-3 years), preferably in the nonprofit or environmental sector.
2. Strong writing skills and the ability to create compelling grant proposals.
3. Ability to manage projects and track outcomes effectively.
4. Commitment to environmental sustainability and community development.
