Trinity College Dublin, through its philanthropic arm Trinity Development & Alumni, is seeking a dedicated and visionary Legacy & Endowment Fundraiser to join our Fundraising Team. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in securing the long-term financial sustainability of the University by cultivating relationships with alumni, donors, and supporters to grow Trinity’s Endowment Fund and expand our legacy and in-memorial giving programs. In Legacy Fundraising, you will:
1. Develop, implement, and direct a multi-year legacy giving strategy and operational plan which includes digital, direct mail, phone, and face-to-face fundraising.
2. Manage all aspects of Trinity’s legacy fundraising from the identification, engagement, and stewardship of prospective legators.
3. Work with our Alumni Giving team to develop and implement bespoke supporter journeys for legacy enquirers, pledgers, prospects, and in memory gifts.
4. Collaborate with our major gift fundraisers and prospect research team to proactively manage the legacy giving pipeline and effectively manage the relationship of individuals who fall into multiple donor categories.
5. Work closely with the BI and data analytic colleagues using insights to deliver a supporter-led marketing approach as well as identifying and testing new audiences, marketing creative, and channels.
6. With the Stewardship, Communications & Events team source impactful stories that inspire supporters to leave a legacy and deliver memorable events that thank and steward.
7. Along with our Stewardship team, develop a full engagement programme for the University’s Legacy Trinity 1592 Circle, and actively manage recruitment to the Circle.
8. Maintain up-to-date expertise in the tax benefits affecting legacy giving.
9. Be the first point of contact for all legacy enquiries from supporters, solicitors, executors, and other stakeholders.
10. Lead on administering all new legacy income including liaising with University Schools and Departments to ensure all gifts received are used in accordance with the legal requirements of each Will and within donors’ wishes.
In Endowment Fundraising, you will:
1. In conjunction with the University’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), develop a strategy for increasing donations to the Trinity Endowment Fund ensuring the plan is ambitious, achievable, and measurable.
2. Actively promote the Endowment Fund with alumni and supporters of the University, managing all aspects of the fundraising process from identification of funding sources, building relationships with potential donors, managing the ‘ask’, and ensuring effective stewardship.
3. Work with the University’s Investment Committee and Trinity Endowment Fund Administrator to increase the profile of the Endowment Fund across TDA fundraising activities and within the University, ensuring consistent messaging across all stakeholder groups.
4. Develop impactful collateral which effectively promote the benefits of giving to the Endowment Fund.
5. Engage with the University’s Faculties and Schools to ensure existing benefactions are aware of available funds and work with other internal stakeholders to ensure the agreed strategy for donations to the endowment is implemented effectively.
6. Be the point of contact for all queries from potential supporters regarding the Endowment Fund.
