Quality Control Technician

* Contract Duration: 23-Month Contract
Link Personnel has been instructed by our client, a leading medical device company, to hire a Quality Control Technician on a 23-month contract. This role is well suited for a Technician looking for the next step in their career with a move into Quality and offers the possibility of permanency thereafter. The Quality Technician will work primarily in relation to quality support activities in the manufacturing processes, including QC product release, rejected material, and analysis of warranty returns.

Core Responsibilities
* Responsible for technical inspection of electro-mechanical parts and large in-vitro diagnostic instrumentation in a low volume, high complexity, and highly regulated technology environment.
* Support quality aspects of instrument manufacture and support resolution in a timely manner to ensure daily output targets are achieved.
* Assess manufacturing outputs to verify instruments before shipment.
* Complete, maintain, and review all necessary paperwork and test data for each system/module to ensure accurate Quality records are available.
* Responsible for processing parts and instruments while meeting production output targets and assigned plant metrics.
* Investigate root causes of failures for in-process rejected parts and warranty return parts to a component level to ensure elimination of repeat failures.
* Develop, improve, and maintain good manufacturing practices and workmanship standards with a quality and process robustness focus.
* Using theoretical knowledge and practical experience, establish causes of malfunction and non-conformance in the electrical, hydraulic, and chemical operation of systems and modules.
* Assist Engineering in the initial validation, installation, and verification of new test procedures, equipment, and products.
* Where required, perform inspection operations on sub-assemblies, modules, and systems using engineering drawings, schematics, flow diagrams, specifications, and methodologies.
* Reduce waste and improve performance using process and instrument knowledge while improving manufactured product quality.
Required Experience
* QQI Level 6 qualification (Diploma or higher) in Engineering or Science Discipline (Bio-Chemistry, Chemical, Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or other relevant technical background) or Diploma/Trade qualification with relevant experience in automation/system manufacturing or support.
* Ideally possess relevant experience in Quality Control and complex instrumentation inspection.
* Must have strong troubleshooting and practical experience in instruments and the ability to analyze data outputs for quality trends.
* 2 years’ experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
* Possibility of shift work to meet supply demand.
