We are actively recruiting high-achieving individuals with AI and Data expertise in data-enabled transformation projects/ programmes within Financial Services: Banking, Insurance, and Wealth and Asset Management.
We are seeking an experienced Data Consultant with a strong background in managing data for Finance and Risk functions, including experience in data governance, processing, storage, quality management, and remediation for financial, risk, and regulatory change projects, understanding of data compliance requirements, hands-on knowledge of relevant systems and tools, and awareness of current industry trends and best practices. The ideal candidate will have consulting experience working for Financial Services clients in Ireland or the UK, a functional understanding of data sets used in relevant domains, as well as technical skills such as data modelling, warehousing, database technologies, ETL processing, and proficiency in SQL.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand business and technical requirements to identify, prioritise, and document data management requirements for risk, finance, or regulatory change.
* Conduct analysis of existing data management processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and integration with new or improved risk, finance, or regulatory solutions.
* Perform gap analysis in data management processes and lifecycle to identify impact areas and design solutions.
* Develop and implement data management solutions to support risk, finance, or regulatory technology and reporting changes, ensuring data compliance. Understand regulatory impact, such as BCBS239 principles.
* Monitor data quality and integrity, implementing controls and fixes, maintaining compliance with Data Governance policies.
* Implement Data Lineage process improvements and maintain documentation to trace data from source to report. Conduct gap analysis and recommend system improvements.
* Provide technical support for data issues, troubleshooting, and resolving data integrity problems.
* Serve as liaison between stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear communication of data lifecycle requirements and challenges.
* Support design and implementation of risk, finance, and regulatory solutions with data lifecycle expertise, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance.
* Research and coordinate insights on new data technologies, tools, and systems for Finance and Risk domains.
* Provide training and documentation to end-users for data management assets.
To qualify for the role, you must have:
* Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent.
* Relevant experience in client-facing data governance, management, engineering, or change delivery roles.
* Knowledge of data management frameworks, compliance, and impact of regulations like BCBS239.
* Minimum 4 years at a blue-chip consulting firm as a Data Consultant focusing on finance, risk, and regulatory projects.
* Experience with Financial Services clients (Banking, Insurance, Wealth & Asset Management).
* Familiarity with Finance, Risk, or Regulatory Reporting domains.
* Experience with data tools and languages: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Talend, Teradata, AWS, Azure, Python, R, Excel, SQL.
* Knowledge of data quality tools, version control systems like Git, and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to present complex data insights effectively.
* Team-oriented mindset, supportiveness, and good organizational skills.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
* Relevant certifications, Agile experience, knowledge of graph databases.
* Ability to handle ambiguity, conduct workshops, and build stakeholder relationships.
* Experience managing MI/BI reports or regulatory reports.
