We are looking for someone to join the Life Compliance Team in a Compliance Assistant role. In this role, you will have an exciting opportunity to play a key part in supporting ZLAP’s compliance mandate.
Our ideal candidate is someone who is a proactive self-starter with a can-do attitude, interested in a new challenge and motivated by expanding skills and experience.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Life Compliance Manager and will support the Life Compliance Officer and the team in the implementation of the organisation's Compliance Programme into the business.
Your Role
As a Compliance Assistant, your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
1. Sales Quality monitoring of new business cases.
2. Managing and answering Compliance and anti-money laundering type queries.
3. Reviewing of sanction, PEP and adverse media alerts, and escalation of same where required.
4. Conduct assurance monitoring of various business functions in relation to Compliance and anti-money laundering type activities.
5. Presenting to internal and external audiences on Compliance and AML related topics.
6. Ensuring internal procedures are kept up to date.
7. Monitoring of marketing material to ensure compliance with Consumer Protection Code requirements.
8. Provide support and assistance regarding Fitness & Probity & Minimum Competency activities.
9. Provide support and assistance in the implementation of Compliance Group Policies.
10. Support delivery of ad-hoc Compliance initiatives as deemed necessary.
Your Skills and Experience
As a Compliance Assistant, your skills and qualifications will include:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
2. Compliance qualifications / Insurance qualifications, or working towards.
3. Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Office.
4. Understanding of Operations processes and procedures.
5. Relevant Financial Services experience.
6. Excellent organisational and planning skills.
7. Very high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
8. Ability to think clearly and logically.
9. Excellent time management of task delivery.
10. Ability to work independently using own initiative and to work as part of a team.
11. Excellent communication skills.
12. Positive and flexible attitude to change.
13. Constructive and supportive working style.
