Job Description Summary:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, providing accurate, precise, and timely patient test results for the diagnosis and management of human illness. The position utilizes automation and computerization, as well as manual methods. Responsibilities include quality control and instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The position may involve teaching and training, but not in a leadership capacity. The role handles blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, spinal fluid, and other body fluids, which may be contaminated with infectious diseases including HIV and other bloodborne pathogens.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree (Required)
* ASCP - American Society for Clinical Pathology certification
* Four-year Bachelor of Science Degree
* Registered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists; AMT Certification is considered equivalent to ASCP
* Completion of all required coursework for Bachelor’s degree and completion of ASCP Certification
* Superior customer service skills
* Experience in an automated clinical laboratory
