Job Description:
The Area Manager will be responsible for driving sales, margin, and return on space to agreed targets.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Improve the overall commercial performance of both Retail and Dispensary areas of the business.
* Deliver exceptional retail standards across your territory.
* Develop and motivate all pharmacy employees to deliver company expectations by giving direction and instruction where necessary.
* Ensure all new processes and procedures are implemented at store level.
* Build strong relationships with pharmacy managers to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the pharmacy.
* Monitor and control all operational costs.
* Recruit the best possible applicants for your stores/ensure the best people are recruited by Franchisees.
* Develop staff to achieve their full potential, including coaching and mentoring pharmacy managers where applicable.
* Ensure weekly KPIs template is completed on time and accurately identify exceptional performance where necessary and take necessary remedial action or maximize overperformance.
* Develop robust and detailed action plans for all stores covering all KPIs.
* Analyse revenue drivers and explore methods to improve them in each pharmacy providing end-to-end solutions.
* Apply improvements across all pharmacies in line with company policy.
* Evaluate compliance to preferred supplier lists to maximise margin.
Operational Standards:
* Merchandising and pricing.
* Staff appearance.
* Window displays and exterior appearance.
* Category Management plans.
Qualification, Experience & Skills Required:
A minimum of 5 years management experience within the pharmacy or wider retail market.
* Strong people management and influencing skills.
* A proven track record of sales growth and business development.
* A high achiever with determination and drive to succeed.
* Capable of driving business profitability by implementing good business controls.
* Excellent communication, planning, organisation and analytical skills.
* Organised, flexible, motivated and a hard-working leader.
* Retail business degree or equivalent.
* Full driving licence.
